Our Mission:

The Austin Stress Clinic's mission is to create alternatives for change to individuals and families affected by violence so that they can transform themselves and their communities. ASC will work on its mission through the demonstration of respect for all clients, the provision of psycho-educational groups to create awareness and learning, and working in collaborations with other community organizations.

Our Purpose:

The purpose of the Domestic Violence Prevention Program is to create a “Place for Change” where individuals can transform themselves by removing violence (verbal, emotional and physical) from their life. This creates possibilities for:

  • Reflecting on how violence has affected you, your family and your community.
  • Learning more positive responses and healthy non-violent coping skills.
  • Sharing experiences, skills and knowledge for dealing with your learned behavior.
  • Engaging participants in a safe-learning environment.
  • Enhancing your coping resources in relating to other family members.
  • Transforming individuals to create a healthier life.

Our Programs:

The Austin Stress Clinic's programs are curriculum based. These include a variety of topics, activities, and learning experiences that allows students in a safe environment to build understanding, awareness, reflections, and to learn about the effects of violence in their own life and alternatives on how to make changes.
